3RDEGREE - Narrow-Caster

/ Published 28-01-2009 /

One day in December 1990, bassist, keyboardist and singer Robert James Pashman met drummer Rob Durham. They are points in common, they like the progressive rock bands. Hence the idea to set up something together. They are seeking a guitarist. After some tests, they found Pat Kliesch. 3RDegree was born. They begin to record. A first album was released: "The World In Which We Live." But it lacks a little something, a singer of international standing. In 1995, they met George Dobbs joined the Group. Icing on the cake, he also plays keyboards and bass. They then record their second opus "Human Interest Story" released in 1996. But the sauce does not and they split.

In 2005, they are found. Since their previous album, the Internet has landed on computers, providing a tool for promotion. They record again for a new opus. They give a few concerts. Internet plays a role, returning fans and new arrive. Encouraged, they released this
"Narrow-Caster" including seven of the ten titles are songs Pashman was written in the mid 90s.

They love the beautiful progressive, it must be said that this album is relatively far apart
"Young Once" and "The Last Gasp". They offer us more of a rock-oriented songs. The voices are very much the music that enriches the basis fairly stripped. Arrangements as keyboards guitars that are quite light, with either one alone. So the songs that brighten their music. It must be said that Dobbs main singer, also sings Pashman Kliesch and provides backing vocals. It is their wealth.

Moreover, they have the knack for finding catchy melodies. This means if they could extract any single story to try to enter the
charts. "The Proverbial Banana Peel" lends itself very well, because it offers very modern tones that 'means some young bands today. With "Scenery", they take a little air with a Beatles McCartney did not hesitate to force his voice. And then a little later on ELO will unveil "The Last Gasp".

Distribution side, they take care of themselves, allowing them to offer the CD to less than $ 12 (excluding postage). At the current price of the dollar, it is not expensive paid! And then, they are green, something rather rare in the U.S.. They have banned the plastic of their "eco-wallet."

This new 3RDdegree should delight fans of rock to imposing vocal game. It is a bit like the
Beatles meet Yes or Toto. This means if a later pop-rock in this album.
