"The Narrow-Caster (2008)

3RDegree - "The Narrow-Caster (Indep. 2008): Another perlita last year that overlook the 3rd disc one American band, dedicated to progressive rock songs. This band really surprised me, find info and I realized that there are some playing time, actually had a stand up and prior to this disc that they released a dvd of the reunion shows the band "The Reunion Concerts."

"The World In Which We Live" (1993) and "The Human Interesy History" (1996) are the first records of the band (who immediately seek to listen) and this new album continues the line of the above, but a little more polished.

The album starts with "Apophenia" and melodic rocker with a catchy chorus or a trademark in this band, the songs do not leave out complex arrangements, but prioritizing the song, which is why "It Works" will continues with all its feeling and the song that gives name to the plate popero most of the disc, along with "Cautionary Tale" (with a certain air of Toto) and "Live With This Forever." We return to rock "The proverbial Banana Peel" and the guitar riff Pat Kliesch marking a paste that you are one, like "Young Once you have things of King's X and Soundgarden, with the melody above all with a George Dobbs (vocals and keyboards), without surprise, is molded to perfection with a sweet voice, accompanied by arrangements of voices, a Queen or Yes, "Scenery" is a good example. By the end of the disc we are "Free For All" muuy as Alice In Chains or Soundgarden, and "The Last Gasp" dark and epic, half-time with Dobbs seems to tears as she sang.

Speaking of the band do an excellent job, subtle arrangements, vocals steal the show, Robert Pasham founder, in low voices, and drummer Rob Durham already appointed Dobbs and Kliesh form 3RDegree and made this "The Narrow C-aster "an excellent disc, progressive rock, non-traditional influences with great variety in the previous Rush albums was more marked influence, but here it took off and managed to show a little more personality and style, so 46minutos only. Songs, just songs to enjoy, this is one of those discs that do not you get tired of hearing, so the songs HOOK and so varied. It is expected a new record this year, so we'll see if once again surprised with this album, but more like a disk that I do not mind.
